M. Lisa Wilson, Ph.D., J.D.

Lisa’s practice focuses on client counseling, patent prosecution, worldwide portfolio management, licensing and due diligence in the biotechnical, pharmaceutical, agricultural and food arts. She has extensive experience in patent drafting and prosecution for a diverse array of clients, including solo inventors, small biotechnology companies, universities and large pharmaceutical and medical companies. She has advised clients on infringement, validity and litigation issues. In the due diligence side of her practice, she variously represented buyers, sellers and investors in several multimillion-dollar deals on topics relating to gene therapy, biodegradable polymers, plant molecular biology, and biotherapeutics.

Lisa worked at several large law firms, including Kenyon & Kenyon LLP, Hale and Dorr LLP (now Wilmer Hale), and Duane Morris LLP, and was in-house patent counsel to TyRx, Inc, a company focusing on implantable, combination drug delivery-device products with novel polymeric biomaterials and, was Director of Patent Affairs at United Biomedical, Inc. She founded Wilson IP Law in 2007, and works to balance home and work life as a sole practitioner, with occasional consulting on life science patent issues for other law practices.
